This study investigates the effectiveness of the ELSA Speak application in improving the English-speaking skills of hospitality students in the Tourism Department at Kupang State Polytechnic. Using ELSA Speak as a learning companion and assessment tool, the study evaluates its impact on students' speaking performance while identifying the benefits and challenges of its implementation. The findings indicate that ELSA Speak effectively enhances students' pronunciation, confidence, and overall speaking ability through objective feedback and regular practice. However, students continue to face difficulties in fluency and intonation. Limited vocabulary reduces speaking fluency, while regional language influence affects intonation, particularly in interrogative expressions and customer-service communication. The study also identifies external challenges, including unstable internet access, subscription costs, and limited functionality in the free version of the application. Overall, ELSA Speak is an effective technology-assisted learning tool for hospitality English instruction, although addressing linguistic and technical constraints is essential to maximize its effectiveness.
