We are publisher dedicated to open access publishing of articles in science and literature. The privacy is for us very important and we apply it by default and by design. That means that privacy is not something that is available upon your request and that it does not require additional software modules that are not available to everyone. There is no any requirement for payment for any feature related to privacy since we consider it as the fundamental right. We do not collect any private data and information about anyone including authors, reviewers, readers of our journals. Readers and other visitors of our sites are not required to register their account. If there is more than one author of one article only one author is obliged to register account and that author will serve as corresponding author with editor. Authors and reviewers are obliged to register their name, e-mail and affiliation to academic and/or scientific institutions. Affiliation is not mandatory although it is important for readers to learn more about an academic affiliation of some author. During the registration process authors are given choice to consent to various options of communication with us that author can update later in author’s profile settings. There will not be any ranking of authors related to their preferred way of communication with us. We will not collect any other private information about author. Author can update his/her profile later. We will not give information about author to any third party. We preserve right to give metadata of article to other indexing agencies which will include information available in public metadata. Authors are obliged to make primary data in social research anonymous so that privacy of persons that took part in research is respected too.
Authors have right to ask us to delete their account which we will do promptly. However, we keep right to keep article(s) related to that author since those articles are created in accordance with various contractual obligations with institutions they have been affiliated with at the moment. Authors that live in countries with various jurisdictions can inform us on special privacy regulations related to the right to be forgotten and request deletion of account. The citizens of EU can base their claims on GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). We will be glad to meet their requirements according to GDPR.
We implement various security plugins and configuration settings in order to prevent any incident that can compromise the server and web platforms with our domain . But, data breach or other incidents can happen due to various hardware failures, software imperfection or failures in hosting companies or telecommunication infrastructure. In the case of data breach we will act promptly and inform you as soon as we will have more information about incident. You will receive information about the incident within 72 hours from the moment we suspect that data breach happened. We will undertake all necessary measures to investigate incident and apply remedies available.
Each person with user account on our web platforms used with our domain and users who think that anyone’s privacy is violated can inform us on their concerns and ask us to investigate issue. Each complaint will be taken seriously and we will act promptly to find out whether privacy is violated or not.
