An analysis of politeness violations by the shadow master character in paddle pop

The purpose of this writing is to examine the violations of politeness maxims by the character Shadow Master as the antagonist and to explore the factors that contribute to his disregard for these maxims. The data were obtained through the "non-participant observation" method and analyzed using a descriptive-qualitative approach. The results of the analysis reveal that the character Shadow Master, as the antagonist in the film Paddle Pop, violates several politeness maxims, including the maxim of tact, the maxim of generosity, the maxim of approbation, the maxim of modesty, the maxim of agreement, and the maxim of sympathy. The factors causing Shadow Master’s impoliteness are his strong emotions and ambition to dominate the world.
